Between February and April 2011 there is a specific
focus on providing opportunities for 'mark-making'
i.e. developing the skills required for writing.  My
Childminding Network Co-ordinator has provided
lots of free resources to be used for this project.
In January the children enjoyed reading 'Polar Bear,
Polar Bear what do you hear?' by Eric Carle.  This
interest was supported by craft activities and small world
play in the Tuff Spot, in order for the children to learn to
identify each of the animals featured in the story.

The children's learning was extended by the provision of
some more unusual plastic wild animals such as a baboon,
ant-eater and koala.
C was fascinated by watching a snake eat an egg on You
Tube.
